SS Type PTC Heaters – Double Fin & Single Fin Selection

For PTC heaters that require higher power(W) within the same or smaller space. Our glued typed PTC air heaters can be customized to have a row of PTC chips with each row of aluminum fin.
Available sizes for Single Fin PTC:
Customized Length(L)
Calculate the length of the PTC heater according to the length and the number of PTC chips used in one set of standard PTC. The length of each PTC chip is 24mm (standard), maximum number of PTC chips can fit in one set is approximately 15 chips. If require longer PTC, please contact us for special designs.
Example:
Length(L) = Length of PTC(24mm) x Num. of PTC chips in a single set + 1mm(tolerance)
= 24 x 5 + 1 = 121mmL
Customized Width(W)
Width of the PTC heater can be extended by combining standard PTC sets (eg. double fins set or single fin set), please refer to the examples below for calculation.
Example:
Width of aluminum fin = 10mm
Width of Single Fin set (mm) = 12.3 ± 1 (1 row fin + 1 row PTC chips )
Width of Double Fins set (mm) = 22.3 ± 1 (1 row fin + 1 row PTC chips + 1 row fin)
Example 1:
Width of combining 4 sets of Single Fin PTC
Width(mm) = Width of 4 single fin sets + Width of 1 fin
= (12.3x 4) + 10 + 0.5 = 59.2mm width
Example 2:
Width of the combining 3 sets of Double Fins PTC
Width(W) = Width of 3 double fin sets x No. of PTC sets
= 22.3 x 3 + 0.5 = 66.9mm width
Width(W) = Width of 1 standard PTC set x Num. of PTC sets + 0.5mm
= 22 x 5 + 0.5 = 110.5mmW
PTC Heater Thickness(T)
The thickness of a Standard PTC heater set is 15mm. If require additional silicon glue seal the thickness of the PTC heater will increase slightly. Please advise our Sales representatives if you require additional silicon glue to be added to your PTC heaters.
PTC heaters with silicon glue will have the following advantages:
- Humidity prevention
- Prevent silver electrode on PTC chips from oxidizing
- Reduce the possibility of sparks caused by short-circuit of positive and negative electrodes in high humidity conditions.
- Stronger bonding, reduce the possibility of PTC breakage due to strong impact or shocks.
- Better exterior
Calculate Power(W):
A single PTC chip is approximately 12W~95W depending on the air flow and air volume (heat dissipation rate). User can calculate the approximate power according to the size of the desired PTC heater. Please refer to the examples below for calculation:
Example 1: Power of smallest SS type PTC heater (22 x 22.3 x 15mm)
Number of PTC chips = 1
Power(W) = 12~95W @ Air Speed of 3.3m/s
Example 2:Power of largest SS type PTC heater (361 x 267.6 x 16mm)
Number of PTC chips = 15 x 12 = 180 pcs
(1 standard PTC set has max. 15 chips, with total of 12 sets)
Power(W) = 12~70W x 180 = 2160W~12600W @ Air Speed of 3.3m/s
Notes:
1. As the number of PTC chips increase per single heating unit, less power is projected per chip.
2. CE recognized: 200V~600V; MAX 4500W
